Instructions
Prepare Meat Sauce
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for 5-6 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Drain excess fat, then stir in marinara sauce, 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Simmer for 3-4 minutes and remove from heat.
Pro Tip:
Drain the beef well to prevent a watery lasagna, and let the sauce simmer to concentrate flavors
Make Ricotta Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
Pro Tip:
Make sure the egg is fully incorporated to help bind the ricotta layer during baking
Assemble the Lasagna
Spread 1/3 of the meat sauce in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer with 3 no-boil lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, and 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers once more, then top with remaining noodles, meat sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
Pro Tip:
Don't overlap the noodles too much, and make sure the top layer is well covered with sauce to prevent drying
Bake and Serve
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes until cheese is bubbly and lightly golden. Let rest for 5 minutes before cutting. Garnish with additional fresh parsley if desired.
Pro Tip:
Let the lasagna rest before cutting to allow the layers to set and make cleaner slices
